The Turquoise Lake Fire is believed to be a human caused fire that started on May 18th. The fire grew rapidly and burned a total of 91,885 acres. The fire consumed the Farewell Lake Lodge including four cabins and several outbuildings at approximately 3 pm AKST on the 28th. Several people had to be evacuated from the property, and damage estimates are approximately 1.5 million dollars.
