Thunderstorm winds broke the 1.5 inch diameter top off a 10 year old maple tree. Winds accompanied by very heavy rainfall and hail.

Wider weather episode

A mid level short wave trough combined with an unstable atmosphere to produce severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds across parts of Union and Wallowa counties during the evening.
