Two trees were blown down at the Claytor Lake Dam. Damage amounts are estimated.

Wider weather episode

Showers and thunderstorms developed along a passing cold front during the evening of the 28th. The lift provided by the front and a weak upper air disturbance was enough to develop the thunderstorms, and enough instability was present for some of these storms to produce damaging winds.
