The western Uinta Basin received its strongest winds post-frontally, with the maximum recorded wind gust being 62 mph at U.S. 40 at Starvation.

Wider weather episode

Strong and gusty southerly winds developed ahead of an approaching cold front on June 16th, with severe gusts reported across much of the state. In addition, winds remained very gusty behind the cold front in some locations.
