Five to eight inches of snow fell across the highest elevations.

A strong winter storm system brought wintry conditions to the higher elevations. This caused travel difficulties over the mountain passes and higher roads. Storm total snow amounts up to 17 inches were reported above 8000 feet in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains.
