A wind gust of 35 knots (40 mph) from the east-southeast was measured by an automated station at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority pump station on Ramrod Key.

A line of thunderstorms moved slowly northwest from the Atlantic waters, crossing the Lower Florida Keys, to the Gulf of Mexico. Isolated gale-force wind gusts were observed.
