Event narrative

Flash flooding occurred in Bottom, Gate, and Cottonwood Canyons. Bulldozers had to clean off nearby roads to open them for business, and some tourists had to be rescued.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorm activity was relentless through the end of July, with more flash flooding, primarily in southern Utah, as well as more widespread severe thunderstorms, in both northern and southern Utah.
