Event narrative

Winds estimated up to 80 mph knocked down some trees in Clover Valley. A Mesonet site on Pequop Summit and at Ruby Lake recorded a wind gust to 65 mph.

Wider weather episode

High wind buffeted the higher passes and along the lee sides of higher mountain ranges across much of Elko county. Wind gusts as high as 68 mph were measured.
