Event narrative

Cape Decision light observed 69 KT at 2100 on 10/13. No land stations observed more than 50 MPH, but headlands in the Inner Channels had gusts to 70 MPH due to the extreme pressure gradients with this storm.

Wider weather episode

After the storm on 10/12, a secondary low developed on the front and moved into Dixon Entrance on the afternoon of the 13th. This second low intensified as it recurved to Cape Spencer and caused hurricane force winds on 10/14 for the southern coast. Widespread power outages and trees were downed for the southern Panhandle.
