The Strawberry Reef SnoTel site is used to estimate the wind out of the Copper River Delta along with the pressure gradient between Gulkana and Cordova.

Wider weather episode

A strong Gulf of Alaska low combined with a strong cold high over interior Alaska produced intense outflow gap wind along the north gulf coast of Alaska. Peak wind gust of 114 mph were measured in Thompson Pass and record high wind gusts of 94 and 97 mph were measured at the Valdez airport during this event.
