Wider weather episode

The same low that caused numerous tornadoes and thunderstorm wind damage also caused very strong winds to move in for several hours across northern Indiana. Winds were sustained in the 30 to 40 mph range in many locations with gusts over 50 mph in a few spots. The strongest winds remained above the surface due to cloud cover. A 20 year old Notre Dame student was killed after being thrown from a scissor lift videotaping a football practice.
