Event narrative

Two day rain totals of 12 to 18 inches resulted in long duration flooding across portions of Hardin County. The hardest hit areas were along near Village Creek near Lumberton, where many roads were flooded for almost a week and homes were cut off by high water. Between 20 to 25 homes near Brushy Creek had flood damage. Another 75 homes were damaged across the county.

Wider weather episode

An abundance of moisture and high wind shear resulted in several tornadoes and flash floods across southeast Texas.
