A cold and unstable air mass in combination with low level upslope flow brought heavy snow on the Waterville Plateau. A trained spotter reported six inches of snow in Waterville. Nine miles north of Chelan on Highway 97, a driver lost control on the ice resulting in a collision with one indirect fatality and at least two indirect injuries.
