Event narrative

A 15 year old boy lost control of his vehicle on an icy road and collided with another vehicle on South Dakota Highway 45 two miles south of Ipswich. The teenager died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries.

Wider weather episode

Light freezing drizzle caused many slippery roads across the area. The icy roads contributed to a two vehicle accident in Edmunds county which resulted in a fatality.
