Clare county emergency management reported that two dozen accidents were attributable to icing from about a eighth of an inch of freezing rain.

Wider weather episode

Around a tenth to an eighth of an inch of freezing rain began during the early morning hours across portions of central lower Michigan and quickly resulted in a glaze of ice on area roads, resulting in numerous accidents.
