Event narrative
Three inches of snow was reported across the county by observers. A fatality traffic accident occurred in connection with the snow, as a result of poor visibility and slippery roads.
Wider weather episode
A storm system moved out of the Rockies and onto the plains, producing a band of heavy snow across portions of northwest Kansas. The most significant snow fell along a line from Tribune and Leoti, northeast to Hoxie. Six to eight inches of snow was reported by cooperative observers. Elsewhere, snowfall amounts of two to four inches were common.
