Event narrative
Periods of freezing drizzle produced icy roads countywide. Consequently, dozens of accidents were reported across the Wichita Area. Unfortunately, two accidents on the Kansas Turnpike proved fatal during the late evening on the 25th. One occurred near the Kellogg exit, the other near the Central Avenue exit. Each accident produced one fatality. Property damage amounts are rough estimates. The Wichita Eagle contributed to this report.

Periods of freezing drizzle and freezing fog affected much of south-central and southeast Kansas from the late evening on the 25th through the morning on the 26th. Area roads became very slick, producing numerous accidents and slide-offs. Unfortunately, three accidents proves fatal: two in Sedgwick county and one in Cowley county.
