What the National Weather Service wrote

The Times Standard printed a picture of a waterspout and claimed it was off of Westhaven. Radar showed a weak cell in that area late in the afternoon. The cell may have generated a brief waterspout.

An upper level low generated a waterspout off the coast of Humboldt County.
