Event narrative
A thunderstorm over the Aguadilla Bay generated a waterspout that moved close to the coast to near the Police Precint and the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Credito, which then continued to move southwest and dissipated near the Parque de Colon. Several structures were damaged by the winds that were estimated by emergency managers at near 80 mph.
Wider weather episode
An upper level trough combined with ample moisture and a very ustable air mass to produce numerous showers with strong thunderstorms across most of the northern half of Puerto Rico.
