Wider weather episode
A southerly flow around high pressure off the east coast transported plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean across the area. The warm and moist southerly flow combined with a pressure trough to trigger showers and thunderstorms. Moderate amounts of instability caused a few thunderstorms to produce damaging winds and large hail.
