Event narrative

One male and one female in their late twenties were killed around 830 am CDT on the 15th on a slushy U.S. Highway 81. The third person in the car was injured-non life threatening. The car they were driving was hit by a large truck.

Wider weather episode

A large surface low pressure area brought 1 to 2 inches of snowfall resulting in slushy roads and difficult driving conditions across Hamlin County. The poor conditions contributed to a fatal accident.
