Event narrative

Two waterspouts were observed about 5 miles north of Marathon in Florida Bay. One waterspout was located due north of 33rd Street, consisting of a visible funnel cloud to the water surface with a large spray ring. The second waterspout occurred one mile east of the previous waterspout, consisting of a visible funnel cloud extending halfway to the water surface.

Wider weather episode

Narrow cumulus cloud lines developed from near Sugarloaf Key through Tavernier, Florida. A few waterspouts developed within the cloud lines in both Florida Bay and the nearshore Atlantic waters.
