Event narrative

A former emergency manager reported a waterspout one mile north of Duck Key. The waterspout was observed as a visible funnel cloud down to the horizon, and remained nearly stationary.

Wider weather episode

A deep upper-level trough of low pressure produced several southwest-to-northeast oriented cumulus cloud lines through the evening of May 15th. Several waterspouts were observed in Florida Bay as well as along the nearshore Atlantic waters along the Middle Florida Keys.
