Event narrative

Flooding that was caused by heavy rains on May 10th continued into the day on May 12th. A man wading through chest deep water along Pine Creek in southeast Scioto County Ohio was pulled under around 1000 on May 12, 2011. His body was recovered during the early afternoon of May 12, 2011.

Wider weather episode

A very unstable airmass was in place south of a warm front in the area. This unstable airmass led to the development of widespread severe weather.
