Event narrative
Snowmelt and rainfall combined to raise water levels on the Salt River and its tributaries in Star Valley. A private road and Fairview South Road were partially or completely submerged by flood waters in the vicinity of Fairview. Stump Creek near Auburn and both Crow and Spring creeks near Fairview climbed out of their banks inundating cropland. Along the Salt River, the water was running highest between the communities of Freedom and Etna.
