Event narrative

A lightning strike hit near the Laguna Restaurant at SeaWorld's Discovery Cove. Three guests on the restaurant patio and five water park staff nearby at an adjacent photo shop were indirectly struck and sustained minor injuries. All persons were examined, treated, and released from local hospitals and urgent care centers.

Eight people were indirectly struck and injured by a lightning strike during a non-severe thunderstorm. Five of the individuals were water park staff, and three were park guests.
