Wider weather episode

Clusters of thunderstorms developed near a long-wave trough east of South Carolina. Thunderstorms became strong as they entered an unstable environment featuring MLCAPE between 2000-2500 J/KG and DCAPE over 1000 J/KG. The sea breeze and outflow boundaries enhanced deep moist updrafts and supported multicell thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorms remained strong as they entered South Carolina coastal waters.
