A trained spotter NNW of Arlee measured 0.88 inch hail.

A shortwave trough that had been sitting off of the Pacific Coast for a few days moved into the Northern Rockies on Tuesday afternoon. The accompaning air mass was very moist and unstable. Very strong thunderstorms developed, producin heavy rain and large hail.
