Event narrative

The August 2011 heat wave continued on the 9th. A man died due to hyperthermia outside his home in Marble Falls. The high temperature at Horseshoe Bay reached 104 degrees with the heat index at 106. This was the tenth consecutive day that the temperature reached 100 degrees.
