Eyewitnesses observed a tornado move out onto Tawas Bay, between Alabaster and Tawas City, as a waterspout. The dissipation of the waterspout was not witnessed, so its exact ending point is unknown.

Thunderstorms moved out over Lake Huron from Northern Lower Michigan. One storm was producing a tornado as it moved out onto Tawas Bay.
