A short but intense Heat Wave hit Central and Eastern Missouri from July 10 - 12. High temperatures were in the upper 90s to around 100. St. Louis hit 100 on the 11th and 102 on the 12. There was one death reported in the City of St. Louis related to this Heat Wave. That person died on the 13th.
