A ship (call sign PHEO) well east of Hobe Sound recorded wind gusts to 50 knots within a thunderstorm.
Wider weather episode
A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms developed along a northward lifting warm-front. Convective wind gusts over 40 knots were observed at Ft. Pierce, and by a ship well offshore over the Gulf Stream.
