Some roads were impassable due to high water. Red Cross was helping a family whose apartment was flooded.

Wider weather episode

The combination of the remnants from Tropical Storm Lee and a frontal boundary draped over the region caused heavy rain which produced flash flooding across portions of central and eastern Virginia.
