Multiple wind gusts greater than 58 mph with a peak gust of 78 mph were recorded at the Hillsboro and Wildhorse RAWS sites.

Wider weather episode

A strong jet stream and disturbance moved across the Billings Forecast Area during the day. Very strong subsidence behind the disturbance resulted in high winds across portions of the area. Many locations experienced sustained winds around 40 mph with frequent gusts around 60 mph.
