The combination of temperatures of 35 to 40 below zero with a north wind of 15 to 30 mph produced wind chills as low as 78 below zero at Eagle Summit. The wind chills were 60 below or lower from approximately Midnight AKST on the 23rd through 1800AKST on the 25th. The strong wind also produced areas of blowing and drifting snow and locally poor visibility near the summit.
