Water was over the road at the intersection of Madison and Jefferson Streets.

A cold front stalled across southern Virginia and along the Mid-Atlantic seaboard. Several weak low pressure systems moved along the boundary, with an intense low pressure passing along it on the afternoon of the 7th. An extended period of moderate to heavy rain resulted across much of northern Virginia. Rainfall amounts reached as high as 4.32 in Spotsylvania County.
