High winds rolled a 17-foot moored Hobie Cat, breaking the mast and separating the trampoline. A substantial atmospheric pressure drop was noted from the observer's home barometer.
Wider weather episode
A strong wake low developed north and west of a vigorous squall line moving east through the Florida Straits. Strong south and southwest winds developed across the coastal waters near the Lower and Middle Florida Keys and intensified across Florida Bay and Hawk Channel along the Upper Florida Keys.
