Event narrative
A NWS storm survey confirmed a short and narrow damage path about 0.25 miles long and 100 feet wide. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a funnel cloud before residences were damaged. The damage path started near the corner of Puma and Chinchilla Streets. The damage path extended northeast to near the corner of Bear Street and Cougar Drive. Approximately 10 homes received minor damage. The most extensive damage was one carport being destroyed and also causing shingle and roof cap damage. Winds were estimated at 70 mph.

A stationary frontal boundary aided the development of isolated severe thunderstorms over southeast Louisiana, including one tornado.
