Two heat related deaths were reported in Madison County. One in Collinsville and one in Troy.

The Heat Wave that began in late June continued into the first week of July, finally breaking on on July 9. Numerous high temperature records were set during the event. Quincy, IL had high temperatures from July 2 - July 7 of 101, 99, 101, 103, 105, and 105. The Metro East area around St. Louis was at or over 100 degrees from June 28 through July 7. Two heat related deaths were reported in Madison County, IL.
