Local law enforcement officials indicated that a large tree limb broke off and fell on an individual and caused a fatality.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms that developed across the Dakotas early Thursday morning, May 3rd, moved into portions of west-central, and central Minnesota. A few of these storms produced large hail. These storms caused another thunderstorm complex to develop in east-central Minnesota, and these moved eastward into west-central Wisconsin during the mid to late morning of May 3rd. In northwest Dunn County, a large tree limb broke off and fell on an individual, causing a fatality.
