Event narrative

One large waterspout with two smaller flanking waterspouts were observed approximately 11 miles southeast of Key Largo beyond the reef. The largest waterspout resembled an elephant trunk and had a well-developed spray ring. The two smaller waterspouts also had developing spray rings.

Wider weather episode

Waterspouts were observed in association with cumulus cloud lines and developing showers. The first waterspouts were observed near Key Largo. Later, more waterspouts developed near the Lower Keys and Key West.
