Event narrative

One boat dock was overturned onto another dock, and several additional boat docks were damaged. Dozens of boats were damaged or destroyed; some of the boats sank. Trees and power lines were blown down.

Wider weather episode

High pressure, which had been nearly stationary over Arkansas, shifted to the west, allowing areas of low pressure aloft to move southeastward into Arkansas periodically. Scattered thunderstorms developed with each of the low pressure areas and isolated storms became severe on the 1st and 2nd.
