A 38 year old male died from prolonged exposure to the heat as he was doing field work for a local utility company just north of Tallahata Springs Road approximately 2.8 miles west of Thomasville.

As is typical along the Central Gulf Coast Region for early August, on this day late morning and afternoon temperatures were in the middle 90s with heat index readings climbing to around 105.
