A wind gust of 39 knots was measured at a Citizen Weather Observing Program automated station at the Upper Matecumbe Fire Rescue Station.
Wider weather episode
Gale-force wind gusts were associated with strong thunderstorms which developed along an outflow boundary from strong thunderstorms over Cuba. In contrast with a similar event on June 22nd, the thunderstorms brought gale-force wind gusts across much of the Florida Keys.
