The path drawn at its surveyed width of 100 yards (0.06 mi) — zoom in and the swath grows to true scale. Other tornadoes recorded nearby that day are shown faint.

What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A weak tornado developed along the leading edge of a QLCS and traveled around 1.5 miles toward the southwest. The tornado did mostly superficial tree damage, however one pine tree with a width of 6 to 8 inches was snapped, patio furniture was damaged along Nick Martone Road, and one agricultural structure was damaged.

The wider storm

A microburst affects one location and then lines of severe storms affect Southwest Louisiana two days in a row during late July. A pair of hot and humid days both gave way to lines of thunderstorms late in the day. The storms produced many reports of down trees, down power lines, and a pair of tornadoes.

Began near Holmwood (30.1553, -93.0636).
