Heat indices rose between 105 and 110 degrees during the afternoon hours.

Wider weather episode

An upper ridge of high pressure moved over the Mid-South during late June into early July. Temperatures rose into the upper 90s to low 100s during the afternoon hours. The combination of heat and humidity produced heat indices between 105 and 110 degrees.

Three heat related deaths occurred as a result.
