The Pulaski County Emergency Manager reported that two trees and several power lines were blown down in and just east of Hawkinsville.
Wider weather episode
A mid-level low was deepening over the Great Lakes, with a series of shortwaves rotating around it. One wave moved through on August 9th, and several showers and thunderstorms developed as a result. Several lightning strikes resulted in house fires across the area. Additionally, a couple of storms became severe across central Georgia with wind damage reported.
