Event narrative

A lightning strike caused a four alarm fire at the Windsor at Harper's Crossing Apartment Complex in Langhorne (Middletown Township). Eight apartments were badly damaged and sixteen others had smoke and water damage. Thirty people were displaced from their apartments as the Red Cross assisted them in finding alternative shelter. Five fire fighters and a police officer were injured battling the blaze.

An upper air disturbance combined with a lee side trof and another hot and humid July day to trigger scattered strong to severe thunderstorms across the Lehigh Valley and southeast Pennsylvania during the afternoon and evening of the 15th.
