Event narrative

Numerous trees were reported down in the Temperance Hall area, with 12 homes damgaged and one house destroyed. One individual was killed during clean up of the storm damage when a tree fell.

Wider weather episode

A lee side surface trough interacted with a very unstable atmosphere and produced clusters of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms became severe and produce large hail and damaging winds across all of central North Carolina.
