WeatherFlow site at KHK Resort observed a 40 knot marine thunderstorm wind gust.
Wider weather episode
A strong upper level disturbance ahead of an approaching cold front combined with a very unstable airmass to produce showers and thunderstorms over the coastal waters during the afternoon of September 18th, 2012. A few thunderstorms became severe with strong marine wind gusts.
